Celebrating Boxing Royalty
The Atlantic City Boxing Hall Of Fame sends out a happy birthday greeting to the man that they call “Prince.”
A Personality That Packs a Punch
Whether you loved him and his brand of boxing or not, from 1992-2002, Naseem Hamed definitely left an indelible impression on all that viewed his fights. Nas brought huge doses of power, excitement, and definite entertainment.
From his over-the-top ring entrances, to the sheer bravado of his interviews, all the way to his often fight ending power, Hamed indeed made his mark. With an overall record of 36-1 (31KOs), the Sheffield, England native conquered the world, capturing every championship the featherweight division offered.
The Showman Makes an Appearance in AC
Having fought all over the world, like so many before him, it was only a matter of time before he made an appearance in an Atlantic City boxing ring. Halloween 1998 was his first and only AC bout, when he battled tough and capable former world champion, Wayne McCullough, to a 12 round unanimous decision. The fans expected a knockout, and it wasn’t an easy win, but they all experienced a show…as only Hamed could give.
Happy 44th birthday “Prince” Naseem Hamed from the Atlantic City Boxing Hall Of Fame.
